Working at Willow Creek

So, update from my last post...sorry it has taken me so long to get this up. My only bad news lately is that Steven has had a bit of the flu bug this week and today has passed the torch on to me. Not happy. We leave for a weekend vacation tomorrow morning. While we're gone, we are missing my nephew Isaac's baptism. Totally bummed! I'll talk more about that later. Let me start at the beginning of recent events.

I GOT THE JOB!! Hooray! I have been working at the Willow Creek Country Club for three weeks now. I am loving it! Its laid back, not stressful at all. Very, very nice change of pace from Quiznos. I work Wednesday through Saturday each week. In April I'll pick up Tuesdays as well. There are two shifts that I alternate between depending on the day. I work 9-3 or 3-9 each day. Wednesdays its random and varies depending on the schedules of the other receptionists (there are two other than me). Thursdays I work the later shift, Fridays I work the morning shift, and Saturdays alternate between the two.

I'm also excited because, with this new schedule, I will get to take some classes this Fall! I have no idea what I want to do education wise. All I know is that I want to be the best Wife and Mother I can be. Until the mother part comes along, I need to do something productive with my life. Hopefully school will fulfill that.

Yesterday, Valentine's Day, Steven had to work so I threw a girls night for some of my friends that didn't have plans. It was so much fun! I invited close to 50 people, 8 or 9 responded yes, and only 3 were able to come. Despite the few numbers, it was still a blast! Thanks to those girls who came :) But now we have a ton of pizza, soda, and candy left over :P

I am very excited for tomorrow! We are flying to go visit Steven's brother Jon and family in Colorado Springs. We will be gone until Sunday evening. Unfortuanatly, we miss Isaac's baptism :( When we booked the flight we didn't know his baptism would be the same weekend. I'm very sad. Oh well, I guess.

We are still waiting on Wedding pictures. Our photographer has been swamped with life, but we should have them soon.

That is it for me so far. If i forgot something then it must not have been important.

Some Excitement!

Okay so this will be a really quick post just because I am so excited! I cut my hair! It is missing almost six inches! Pictures will come later...as soon as i actually look good in one of them :p Also, the other day I made a FULL meal! All. By. Myself! Steven wasn't even home! Very proud of myself :) The other exciting thing is Steven filed his taxes today and we will be getting a LARGE sum back! We can pay everything off and still have some left over! So happy! And FINALLY, my most exciting news! (although i shouldn't get my hopes too high) I am through with working at Quiznos. I've worked there for two long years and I am finished working with children (excluding a select few) even though everyone there is an adult! Anyway, I live directly across the street from a Country Club. a couple weeks ago i put in an application to work as a server there in the restaurant (Steven found out that starting rate was $10 plus tips!). But the Club was closed for the off season for a couple weeks. It just reopened this week and guess who got a phone call today!? Me! But not for the Server position. They called to request that I apply for the receptionist position! I have an interview tomorrow! I really hope I get this! It would cut gas costs in half! My commute would be walking across the street, literally! And I would have the morning to go to school! I really am so happy! I can't contain my excitement! (notice all the exclamation points).

In the Beginning...

September 2005: Steven and I met on my first day of high school (my sophomore year). From the moment we met I was head over heels for him. We walked home together often and when we didn't walk together, I wasn't far behind him :p I wasn't stalking him really, he just lived four blocks further west than I did :) wasn't that convenient? I soon discovered that he is only 4 months and 2 days older than me. He was a grade ahead of me so I was thrilled to find out that we weren't that far from each other.

From there we were mostly friends that flirted with each other and held hands during movies. It was common to see two or three girls fawning over him and any other guy that hung out in our group of friends. Around this same time I had a lot of competition, mostly from one of my best friends. We had agreed to "share" him....girls...never, never EVER "share" a boy! It is asking for heartbreak. It ended up that the summer between my sophomore and junior year Steven and best friend started dating steadily. But my eager 16 year old self still did not give up! I got my first kiss on my 17 birthday from Steven! (September 2006) A month later he left me for best friend. The rest of that school year was drama, drama, drama. Mostly from me, but partly him. He would rebound on me or some of our other friends in between his break ups from no-longer-best friend; giving me mixed signals. Finally I decided that we were through! and I told him that. We both moved on. He stayed with the same girl for the next three years and I dated three other guys.

During these years we both learned life lessons and grew as individuals. He also came to me, apologized for his actions and admitted to being a jerk. I forgave him.

Fast forward to September 2010: I had just been broken up with twice in a six month period and Steven had just ended the three and a half year relationship with the other girl. Then there was the Big Band Dance at the institute. One of my best friends, Jessie, and I dressed up in 40's glam and went. We. Were. Hot. It was at this dance that Steven says he noticed me and fell for me. Sadly, I was chasing Matt Bailey and didn't even notice Steven. After the dance, Steven started leaking his way into my life. He got himself invited to things I would be at, we started texting each other, even got himself on a double date with Matt and I, except Steven decided not to bring a date. That was super awkward. I was on a date with my ex-boyfriend and the guy I currently had a huge crush on...

Halloween 2010: Steven and I were friends now. We were seen at the same parties and I was comfortable being around him, but I still had no inclination that he liked me or that anything could happen. The institute held a Halloween dance the Saturday before the 31st and we both went. After dances many of our friends like to join together at the restaurant across the street. The people I came with didn't want to go, so I followed Steven over there. It was right then that I even thought about anything happening. I was still stuck on Matt though. At the restaurant Steven offered to tutor me in math (I stink at it). The week that followed flipped me completely upside down.

Sunday, Halloween: It was the first meeting of my homeward stake's YSA ward. Bishop was bearing his testimony and talked about the celestial kingdom. my mind was focused on being there with Matt (i really liked this guy). On my way home from church that day I had the feeling that it was time to get in a serious relationship again and that this time it would go somewhere. I immediately thought of Matt. Little did I know that Matt had met his future (now current) wife, Kimi, at the Halloween dance. They were married August 2011. The next three days, I spent my evenings with Steven while he tried to teach me math 1010. On the third night we both realized that there were some serious feelings between us and he kissed me :) We have been inseparable ever since.

Hello World!

Well, here I am, blogging. I don't feel like typing a lot tonight so this is just to say hi and bye and welcome to my blog. I cannot promise that what I have to say will be interesting at all. It may be boring. But i will try to keep updating the best I can...okay, when i remember and feel like it. Something to look forward to: Next time I will post Our Story. How we met, the dramatic tale in between, and how we came to be married :)
